Time for a cuppa

Hatch Luncheonette
32 Blackwellgate, Darlington DL1 5HG

With a wide selection of hot and cold drinks, a delicious breakfast and brunch menu and the most mouth-watering homemade sweet treats, Hatch Luncheonette is a firm favourite of many locals.

With both indoor and outdoor seating, this café is deceptively large and full of charm.

Open 9:30am – 2:30pm, Wednesday to Sunday.

Maggie’s
54 Duke Street, Darlington DL3 7AJ

Not only is this café a favourite of ours, but it’s also got the top spot on Trip Advisor!

It’s clear to see why Maggie’s is rated the number 1 best café in Darlington. With friendly staff, a vast menu (which you can view on their Facebook page prior to visiting) and a selection of hot and cold drinks to suit all tastes, Maggie’s provides the perfect space to sit back and relax or tuck in to a tasty breakfast or light bite.

No time to stop? Don’t worry, Maggie’s also offers a takeaway service!

Robineau
27 West Auckland Road, Darlington DL3 9EL

If you’re looking for something a little more upmarket, Robineau is THE place to go for a traditional afternoon tea.

With the perfect blend of French cuisine and English baking, this patisserie, deli and bakery has really made a name for itself for creating handmade delights since its opening in 2007, so much so that it went on to launch a delivery service to fulfil demand!

The café is only open for afternoon tea reservations, however you can also head along to their shop or order online to take advantage of their delicious makes.

Shop opening hours: Wednesday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm

Café opening hours: Wednesday to Saturday, 12pm – 2:15pm. Afternoon Teas only - reservations must be made in advance.

Tea with Alice
4 Tillage Green, West Park, Darlington DL2 2GL

Whilst it is currently undergoing some refurbishments, we couldn’t end without mentioning Tea with Alice - and no, it’s not an Alice in Wonderland themed café!

Not only does Tea with Alice offer an incredible selection of loose tea, coffee and fantastic food, as well as the most welcoming and friendly bunch of staff, but it’s also located right on our doorstep in the village centre of the West Park development.

Check out their website and follow Tea with Alice on Facebook ready for their reopening on Tuesday 21st September.
