There’s no denying the summer holidays can bring a feeling of dread when it comes to thinking of ways to keep the children entertained, that’s why we’ve been working on a handy guide of things to bring delight to all the family in and around Darlington over the next six weeks.

Explore our town’s history at Head of Steam
Head of Steam - Darlington Railway Museum is located in North Road Station on the 1825 route of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, the world's first steam-worked public railway. Darlington Pride Weekender
Taking place from Saturday 7th to Monday 9th August, there’s a variety of activities to enjoy from a Pride picnic and rainbow trail, to market stalls and theatre events. Find out more here.
Proms in the Park
Taking place from 3pm – 5pm on Sunday 8th August, Proms in the Park is a free event located in the beautiful surroundings of South Park. There’s no need to book, simply turn up and enjoy! Picnics and chairs highly recommended for the full experience.
